Welcome to the local organization of the Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES®)
and Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service (RACES) in Winnebago County, Wisconsin!
ARES® and RACES are volunteer emergency communications organizations of licensed
amateur radio operators. In Winnebago County we serve emergency management, the American
Red Cross, local hospitals, and any disaster relief agency operating in our area. We also
provide communications support to local charitable events. Winnebago ARES/RACES is also
active in the SkyWarn program, supporting the National Weather Service and local
emergency management. Through our SkyWarn work we also support many major local event
organizers, helping them to keep their patrons safe from the weather.
This web site is shared with and operated by East Central Wisconsin Emergency Communications Incorporated (ECWEC). ECWEC is a Wisconsin non-profit corporation formed to hold the assets of Winnebago ARES®/RACES. ECWEC has no members, and is operated by a board of directors.
